Hello all -
I am starting a blog to outline my experience working with Malcolm and Britannia Sobers. We hired these two people to plan what was supposed to be a carefree, wonderful day. Unfortunately they are unsavory people, lied to us repeatedly, and have been running up charges on our credit cards for services they did not provide. Simply put: these people are crooks, and I'm doing what I can to ensure no one else gets screwed around like we did.
I invite anyone and everyone who has been scammed by these two to contribute. I will be posting a full story soon.

Our wedding in December of 2007 was everything we hoped for--and Malcolm planned and organized our whole vacation in Belize and surrounding area for us and our extended family. Everyone loved him and we felt that he totally trustworthy.

Malicious post...I never approach persons to do any form of business or work...they always approach me for help but never want to pay me...when I stand up for my rights...they take the approach of trying to affect me...so that you know it does not matter anymore...

ReplyDeleteMalcolm was to pay his employees of expert business solutions on the 15th of December 2012, however he came up with a lie of tell them that he has not yet gotten paid from his co business, of which he worked closely with Troystar which is a complete lie, he owes Troystar over 20 thousand dollars and cannot pay them. He promised his employees that they would receive their monies by the Wednesday the 19th of December 2012 and that they would also receive an incentive and all of their commission that he did not pay them from they stared to work with him in October of 2012, which was another lie. The employee waited for their pay on Wednesday but did not receive their pays until Thursday the 20th of December. Upon receiving there monies all the employees quickly realized that they did not receive their full pay, no incentive or even their commissions. To add to all of this, people you must note that this is not the first time these employees have not gotten their pays on time or in full. He is not even paying these peoples social security payments. Now! He is even going as far as to try to claim that his employees are the cause of his failure. He states that they are trying to Sabotage his charter and his professionalism. It’s Christmas and these People can’t even enjoy it because of him. Malcolm Sobers is a conniving crook who needs to be stopped as soon as possible

He pretends to be so nice, sweet and friendly but he's not. Apart from all the fraud, and stealing that he has done this man sexually molests and preys on young women. He is a psychopath!! I'm so sorry for his wife, he has a little girl and a son also! I am sorry for everyone. He needs to be reported!

DeleteOur operation has been closed for over 6 weeks and suddenly someone posts this on the blog. I seem to run through the minds of idle persons who have no life. The question that I would ask as an intelligent reader is, Why if this is so as the blogger if I may call the anonymous post this claimed, "sexually molested" persons, then why ask on the blog for it to be reported?
Are you not the victim? Who are these women? did they come to confide in you of their ordeal that you write with such conviction, did you give them proper advice on how to address this serious allegation? I have no answers to this, do you? The beauty of the internet and the dangers exist within this one blog, persons with personal vendetta's spend time out of their daily lives to attempt to further affect me. (Conniving) Crook, thief, steal, molester,psychopath, animal and the list goes on and on and on...why would everyone use these means to attack me.
I would like to see the evidence to back up these powerful accusations be presented, come on people put your names behind these statements. I know that I can put mine and I have my evidence. I use "Charm"? were you affected did I trick you Anonymous person, what happened to you? why are you representing employees...can they not speak for themselves?
These persons no that I just let these things slide and rightfully tell me I am stupid. However....
I felt stupid just reading and thinking about this post and now that I have finished responding, I am convinced i lost brain matter. Don't hide behind the internet put this in writing so I can get an opportunity to sue more of you.

ReplyDeleteAll the posters hide behind anonymous names as a part of their personal desire to destroy my reputation and I must admit you have succeeded.
But it has reached the point where I need to respond and of course give my side of the story. Some may say that silence is consent, it was just me just ignoring people and their lies. I do not fight dirty with dirty but I will at this point do what is necessary to preserve anything that is left of my name.
First off let me respond to the last few posts as this will take less time than the others.
People use the internet and rumor mongering to get to me and to try and disrupt any attempt for me to make a basic living but none are willing to deal with the matter either professionally or through the right channels.

Malcolm Sobers, did this same thing in GUYANA between 2005-2007.... and then claimed that he was the victim at the end...He left owing businessmen, employees, contractors, etc.... then he sent us a letter claiming bankruptcy... i'm reading this and can't believe that this exact scenario is happening again...

THIS IS SO SO SO SO SAD...
TROYSTAR - I, along with a team of managers provide management consultancy for this call center company. We also provided opportunity for them to get business from clients, aid in them finding a landlord that will provide them with all the furniture down to the computers, routers etc for them to occupy. They were to have monies to carry their business through a critical 6 month period as a call center start up before they start to see a profit.
ReplyDeleteMy team of 5 managers were to get a fixed management fee for running their operation and then a commission on the business that they do. Note that this company knew nothing of Call Centers other than this is what they wanted to do.
When it came to the time for operation we learnt that they had no money and the loan they were to get reduced tremendously because they presented a weak business plan of riches from month 1. Do remember that they did not invest $1 dollar in equipment or furniture for a call center. My group actually bought furniture and rented furniture and equipment for their use as a convenience.
So for the 1st 2 months they paid their management fee and then we noticed that payment is not coming in and no one is telling us anything, after a sit down with ownership we learnt that they had some cash flow issues and will get their monies once there loan is processed. My team struggled through that period with my personal funds being used to pay my staff. After months of not paying we started operation with a huge debt of management fees and they having debt in lease fees and other areas.
We continued patiently working with them being behind 3 months management fees and being paid small amounts far and wide to just keep us believing. Due to lack of funding we were unable to run an effective operation with technology compromised among other major issues and so very little production and revenue was being made.
We procured a client that agreed to pay us a fixed amount and we decided to give them some of the business and another call center that was co-leasing space within their operation some of the business.
Being told that the client's pay cycle is 30 days NET 15. They wanted more agents assigned but could barely afford to pay their current staff much less pay us or lease fees and other bills. Our decision not to give them more caused a dramatic breakdown in our relationship with them and after they made a full attempt to try and circumvent us by going to the client directly and trying to recruit my managers I offered to an early termination of my consultancy agreement without penalty and we would train their staff and leave business for them to continue if they only pay our fees which up to November 30th and owing back from September was over $25K. They agreed, November 30 came and no payment and no word and on Dec 15th after numerous attempts to sabotage the business they starting telling our employees that we owed them and not the other way around.
Them not paying us has affected the other call centers operation which I would address in my next post. All those who require clarity on any of these items can email me directly at msobers80@gmail.com, I would be willing to furnish details to prove my position on any of these areas.
Then there is Kim Scott, who I do not know, she does not work or never once met me before. Somehow she posted on the blog. Later to find out that it was one of the employees either not knowing how to use "Anonymous" so signed in as a fake name or some other silly reason wrote that post.
ReplyDeleteEverything in the post was as a result of Troystar and its vindictive managers Efrain Cal and Norman Augustine pushing them to write about the blog. In fact they directed the persons to the blog so that they can write on it.
All of the employees were paid and as a result of the non payment from Troystar and there plan to not pay for the technology we leased, we decided to close our doors indefinitely. Our management team had to sacrifice finances over the christmas period in order to ensure that the employees were paid. All those who received less than their full salary were only deducted for absenteeism. I understood and respected the position of the employees to be concerned about their salaries and we did everything in our power to resolve the matter and provide the necessary information to back up their final payments.
The person behind the post was angry because of their deductions but for the 30 days up to that point, they had missed more than 50% of their time for a variety of reasons. But human nature is to forget that a company emphasized with them and paid them for days that they did not work.
We showed the employees the facts and those who were objective recognised that Troystar's delinquency was fault for delays in salary.

Nice couple...I planned their wedding and helped organize some activities for them which we had a contract for and they committed to with a deposit. They deposit percentage placed in this blog is not accurate for the activities.
All in tourism know that certain activities that require over 10 persons require prebooking with full payment or deposit before the trip. I did not charge for the balance until after the trips.
Wedding day had tons of problems that were not ours, they know that they were doing a beach wedding and it was raining terrible that day as well as prior to the wedding we had an extensive power outage.
We were able to find a solution that made the rain not spoil their ceremony and the power outage not spoil the brides preparation especially hair (she was freaking out and crying about both issues), we got a generator, move the hair salon to the hotel where the wedding would be and got her and her friends taken care of.
Wedding was exceptional, we got Garifuna drummers, food of immense proportions and they truly loved it. I have many witnesses that heard the bride and groom tell us that this was an amazing wedding.
The next morning, all went wrong when I got a call with persons shouting and arguing in the background. It was the hotel manager and the newlyweds, arguing over their bar bill. They had one arrangement with me, went behind my back and against our contract and made their own arrangement with the hotel manager to then discover that their new arrangement changed their extras beyond what was included for the bar by a significant amount ($1500US or so) n.b: the wedding patrons drank from before the ceremony until about 11pm thats some 6 hours.
Until this point we had no problems, someone apparently told them something or the other to change their position with me even though they were at fault for the bar changes. They demanded I pay all of the difference at once, I emphasized with them and agreed to pay some of it but not all to make their time a pleasant one...they however refused, did the tour and threatened to run a charge back for all of my wedding and tour fees just to get back at me.
I proceeded to run the charges for the tours booked that I had on file. Michael then attempted to run a charge-back with false claims to his bank and when I provided the proof to the bank, I was successful in my defence.
Thereafter, I got an email stating that because of his skills as an internet marketer he would tarnish my reputation and so began this process...the rest is history.
I was willing and still am willing to work out a compensation for the increase in the bar charge with them but I will not refund the total amount charged.

Try to rebrand yourself by doing the right thing. That is the only way to clear your name. You can start by treating your new client with respect and not as potential prey.
It would be good for your image, if you could show a little respect and dignity for yourself. If you don't respect yourself, no one else will.

malcom timothy sobers has return to the shuttle business again after also ripping off business men and women in this line of business and he is being monitored closely by law officials and organization in this country of belize...one slip and he will be cuff on the wrist and ankle. he is nothing but a huge threat to the tourism business in belize

Update on our $1800 (almost 1900) fiasco with Malcolm Sobers at "Become at sales@becomecaribbean.com" pretending to be Stefano and The Colibri House in Plecencia Village Belize. We emailed Malcolm and threatened to have the credit card company take action as the previous writers had suggested. He replied back and said it was someone else (a Canadian) who had taken control of his website and was scamming us all. He agreed to make it right and refund the money even though it was putting him out of business. Four days later the money appeared at our credit card. We did send all the information and the dispute form to the card company just in case. We came to Belize without our Colibri reservation. Stefano was amazing and put the word out in the community and tried to find us alternatives to rent since he was already booked up months ago for this time, and we found a great place at the Flamboyant Tree where Angie has been wonderful and we are very happy to be staying here. We got several responses back from local owners offering there sympathies and their places. It was very touching to see the outpouring for the plight that has been a nightmare for Stefano. We would definitely recommend coming here and staying with Stefano if possible, and also the Flamboyant Tree with Angie, you won't be disappointed.

I have been contacted by a few other hotels in Belize saying their clients credit cards were billed for services never requested of or provided by Malcolm Sobers, so you are not the first and action is now being taken to deal with this on a higher level. Malcolm is from Guyana and came to Belize and first wore out his welcome in Placencia and then moved to Cayo, where he has done the same there. I had also been contacted by hotels he wrote checks to that bounced. Malcom Sobers had to Leave Guyana because he robbed over 20 business men and over 100 employees of hundreds of thousands of United States Dollars. He pretended to be a Consultant that had data contracts outsourced from London and india. We invested in call centers and paid him more than USD$50,000. He lied and lied and covered his tracts well, and when he could lie no longer, he ran away to belieze. He is a dangerous person. I want to know if he has no conscience.
He borrowed money from persons pretending to represent a company name without letting the other partners know, and when he left guyana, we had to repay all these perople their money( over USD$30,000). My friend even went to prison because of what Malcom Sobers did. This guy is just shameful. Many people in Guyana would love to get their hands on him. I wonder what he did will all the money he scammed from people while he was in guyana.

ReplyDeleteThis is sad. He currently has a call center on cony drive name bethel. Over 100 employees who are still waiting to be paid. 20/11/2015..and it is said he is not paying social security for them either but has been deducting it in every pay slip. And it is said that he is currently having sexual relationship with more than one of his female employees..he currently lives in Belmopan with his wife and kids. Some how social security is investigating slowly cause of complaints from employees that are concerned..

If you decide to leave early or any of those options it will be on your own decision and will result in reduction of hours beyond what you loose. Every two week that your hours are short more than 7 hrs without being absent for cause you will loose one day in your shift and it will continue until you resolve the matter or you decide to leave us

They currently scam more people under the name Bethel Communications and Belize Shuttles. Same story, his "call center clients" never pay up on time or the wire transfer doesn't go through. his businesses are not properly registered and when they do register they take advantage of others so when he runs it into a shit hole he cant be taken to court. He has scammed and stolen from business partners all over belize and even more from his employees.
